SUMMARY:Adventures without Barriers: Burlington County Birds\, Birding Basics 101
DESCRIPTION:These programs are designed with individuals with mobility concerns in mind. Birding can be a challenging experience\, since finding the birds is often a matter of being in the right place at the right time\, especially for those migratory species. Please join us as we follow avid bird enthusiast Mackenzie Tansey on this outdoor adventure. We will look for interesting birds that are residents or just passing through the area. \nWe will take a slow hike\, passing through woods\, wetlands\, and open farm fields. \nThis inclusive mobility and family-friendly outing follows along a section of the historic Burlington Mt Holly Railway – rail trail. The trail is a picturesque location perfect for birding opportunities as the site has a mixture of forest\, open meadow\, and wetland habitats as the area is crossed by stream networks of the North Rancocas River. The trail is a good place to get long\, clear looks at birds because of the relative openness of the farmland and dense forested wetlands. It is also a nice space to know about\, especially because of its quick and easy access to birding for almost anyone. \nPinelands Adventures has several rugged-terrain wheelchairs available for use by request both electric and manual types. \nCost is $10 per explorer. Pre-registration is required through Pinelands Adventures.
