Join the NJ School of Conservation for a relaxed outdoor art workshop where participants will paint a detailed scene inspired by the Black-capped Chickadee and the winter woodland setting at NJSOC.
Small but mighty, the chickadee is a reminder that even in the coldest months, the NJSOC campus is full of life and personality.
This painting captures the quiet, winter charm of one of the New Jersey School of Conservation’s most beloved year-round residents: the Chickadee. A meticulously detailed Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapillus), known for its unique call and its brave, curious personality that delights hikers on the NJSOC trails.
Materials are included in the fee; all you have to bring is excitement and some confidence.
You are welcome to bring snacks. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
This program is open to adults and youth ages 14 and up. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited to 12 artists.
