BoardSafe

Organizational Summary

For more than 20 years, BoardSafe Docks has designed, engineered, and manufactured waterfront structures that make lakes, rivers, and shorelines accessible to people of all abilities. Accessibility is not an add-on to BoardSafe’s work — it is the core of it. The company specializes in ADA-compliant and adaptive water-access solutions that let people with disabilities, older adults, veterans, and families participate fully in paddling, fishing, rowing, and simply getting close to the water.

BoardSafe’s product line includes adaptive kayak and canoe launches, accessible fishing piers, transfer systems, gangways with compliant slopes, floating docks, and pedestrian bridges — each engineered on the company’s heavy-duty, marine-grade aluminum framing for durability in public and high-traffic settings. In 2025, BoardSafe’s adaptive kayak launch was recognized with an INNOVATEAble award for advancing inclusive outdoor recreation.

BoardSafe partners with municipalities, parks departments, conservation groups, and institutions to bring inclusive water access to public spaces across the country. Every dock, launch and pier is designed and built to meet ADA and safety requirements while standing up to years of public use — the result is durable, welcoming water access that invites everyone to the water’s edge.
