Ocean County Parks and Recreation

Organizational Summary

Ocean County Parks and Recreation offers a wide variety of outdoor activities in 27 parks and conservation areas. With over 4000 acres of preserved and well maintained land you can enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, canoeing, fishing, ball fields, tennis courts, playgrounds and so much more. With parks from Point Pleasant Beach to Tuckerton you’re sure to find an adventure near you.

The Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation has worked diligently to provide accessibility to our parks. Towards that end, the Ocean County Board of Commissioners has strongly endorsed our goal, and we have been able to provide a park system that encourages our residents with disabilities to come out and enjoy our beautiful facilities!

We have two “beachwheels” available to visitors at our parks. These are comfortable, PVC chairs with wide “balloon” wheels, which enable transportation over sandy surfaces. We will be happy to transport the beachwheels to any park facility in the Ocean County park system with 36-hours notice.
We will accommodate special needs upon request, given at least 36-hours notice in all cases. Most of our program rooms are fully accessible, as are our restroom facilities. Parking areas are also clearly marked at all our parks.
